Awami Swechasebak League's 30th anniv Saturday

The 30th founding anniversary of Bangladesh Awami Swechchhasebak League (BASL) will be observed on Saturday.

The BASL was founded on July 27, 1994 as an associate body of the ruling Awami League as per the directives of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.

To mark the day, the BASL has taken elaborate programmes throughout the country, reports BSS.

As part of the programs, the national and party flags will be hoisted in front of the Swechchhasebak League’s central office in the capital along with its all offices at district, city, upazila and ward levels in the morning.

The leaders and workers of the organisation will pay rich tributes to the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman by placing wreaths at his portrait in front of historic Bangabandhu Bhaban at Dhanmondi Road No 32.

On the eve of the day, BASL President Gazi Mesbaul Hossain Shachchu and General Secretary Afzalur Rahman Babu congratulated party leaders and activists of all levels and especially thanked Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina for being the guardian of this party.

They also expressed deep shock at the deaths of party men in the recent mayhem and prayed for the eternal peace of their departed souls.

Dua and milad mahfils will be held in the country seeking recovery of the injured leaders and activists and eternal peace of the departed souls of the deceased party members.
