A Dua Mahfil was held on Thursday for the late Nadiha Ali, beloved second daughter of valiant Freedom Fighter and Unique Group Managing Director Mohd. Noor Ali and Chairperson Salina Ali, in remembrance on the occasion of her birthday.

Special prayers were offered for the salvation of Nadiha’s departed soul at the Dua Mahfil arranged at the Grand Ballroom of The Westin Dhaka in Gulshan. The Khatib of Banani Central Mosque led the prayers.

Mohd. Noor Ali expressed his gratitude to everyone for attending the Dua Mahfil. He said, “Among my three daughters, Nadiha was second. She was very sociable. She always treated everyone well whether it was during her school, college or office days. Everyone was impressed by her. She had leadership qualities. She was also involved in many social activities.”

In addition to Nadiha Ali’s family, friends and a diverse cross-section of the community, the Dua Mahfil was also well-attended by the officials and employees of Unique Group and all of its subsidiary entities.

Key members from the Gulshan Joggers Society, the North Club, and the Bangladesh Association of International Recruiting Agencies (BAIRA) also attended the Dua Mahfil. Notable attendees included Unique Group's Chief Adviser and The Business Post’s Acting Editor Dr Khondaker Showkat Hossain, Unique Group CEO Syed Sanowarul Hoque, CEO (Finance, Procurement & Power Plant) Gazi Md Shakhawat Hossain, Unique Hotel and Resorts PLC CEO Shakawath Hossain, and Commodore (Retd) Bipen Kumar Saha.

Earlier in the morning, a floral tribute was offered at the grave of Nadiha Ali at Banani Graveyard in Dhaka.

Nadiha, 37, died on December 2, 2023, in a road accident near Chicago airport in the United States. She was the second daughter of Mohd Noor Ali and Salina Ali, who is also the Unique Group chairperson.

Her body arrived in Dhaka on a Turkish Airlines flight on December 11, 2023. She was laid to rest at Banani Graveyard the next day, amidst the reverence and tearful affection of thousands.
