Government officers and employees are evacuating the secretariat en masse on Tuesday. The mass exodus began shortly before 12pm, causing a severe gridlock inside the secretariat and at the gate.
The officials are leaving the secretariat as per instruction of the Ministry of Home Affairs.
After Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina resigned and escaped abroad on Monday, attacks on government buildings and homes of Awami League leaders are taking place in different parts of the country.
