Payra Port is operating as usual to guarantee the smooth flow of goods along the industrial and supply chains in Kalapara Upazila of Patuakhali.

Along with security personnel and Ansar, 42 naval contingents are providing overall security in the zone, confirmed the chairman of the port Rear Admiral Abdullah Al Mamun Chowdhury on Wednesday.

Security of foreign nationals staying in administrative, residential and project areas has been strengthened and assured.

All activities including loading -unloading- of import-export goods of the port are normal.

On 6 August, 6 MV Nordson, a mother vessel carrying coal arrived at BCPCL jetty at Payra Port with 24,000 tonnes of coal and discharge operations are underway.

Mv Bermondi with 25,000 tonnes coal and Mv Jie Bang Da Jian with 2,417 tonnes PHC pile pipe are staying the port.

The project work of jetty, yard, road and bridge of the port is going on smoothly.
