ICT Division urges UNDP to probe consultants

The ICT Division has asked UNDP for conducting a thorough investigation of allegations against some consultants, who were appointed by the UNDP Bangladesh for agency to innovate (a2i) programme.

This was stated in a letter sent to the Resident Representative of UNDP Bangladesh on Tuesday, signed ICT Division Deputy Secretary Zillur Rahman.

According to the letter sent to the UNDP Bangladesh representative, the ICT Division has recently become apprised of complaints against certain consultants employed by UNDP Bangladesh about their conduct and activities which has got circulated through social media.

If proven, these allegations may undermine the credibility and effectiveness of the joint venture and collaborative efforts between the ICT Division and UNDP Bangladesh.

Given the importance of transparency and accountability in the joint initiative, ICT Division requests UNDP that their office should initiate an immediate and thorough investigation into these allegations.

ICT Division also appeals UNDP Bangladesh to take appropriate actions against any individual found to be in violation of UNDP's standards and ethical guidelines. The letter also assured the UNDP about their assistance if required in any way to facilitate this process.
