Bangladesh Awami League Organising Secretary Ahmed Hossain and Chattogram Port ex-chairman Rear Admiral (retd) Mohammad Sohail have been taken into 4-day remand each in a case filed over the murder of Jubo Dal leader Navin Talukder.

On Wednesday, Paltan police station Sub-Inspector Nazmul Hasan produced the two accused in the court of Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Mohammad Jasim, and sought a 10-day remand to ensure proper investigation. The court granted a 4-day remand each for the duo.

Rear Admiral Sohail was sent on forced retirement from the Navy on Monday. He was also serving as the chairman of Chattogram Port. For the next two years from 2010, Mohammad Sohail was the Legal and Media Wing director of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB).

Ahmed Hossain was the organising secretary of Awami League. He was elected from Netrakona-5 constituency in the 12th National Assembly elections.
