Dhaka University, one of the oldest higher education institutes of the country, has turned into a massive relief camp for helping flood victims in the country’s western region.

Volunteers of the Boishommo Birodhi Chhatra Andolon and students of different institutions –including from the Dhaka University – collected a large number of relief from different sectors on Saturday.

The Gonotran (Mass relief) collection programme started at 8am on Saturday and ended at 10pm. The relief collection booth was set up at the main gate of the Teachers and Students Center (TSC). The volunteers were seen busy collecting relief throughout the day.

The students were collecting both money and goods, and they documented every small and large contribution with due accountability.

From the morning, people from different parts of the capital continuously come to Dhaka University with relief according to their capacity.

People are donating both money and essential goods such as basic medicines, dry food, clothes, sanitary napkins, water, life jackets etc.
