The police have arrested former State Minister for Information and Broadcasting Mohammad A Arafat. He was nabbed from the city’s Gulshan area on Tuesday noon, sources say.

Former minister and Jatiya Samajtantrik Dal (JASAD) President Hasanul Haq Inu was earlier arrested from the city’s Uttara area on Monday. A former information minister, Inu was one of the leaders of the 14-party alliance led by the Awami League.

Several ministers of the ousted government have already been arrested in these cases.

Among them are Awami League Joint General Secretary and former social welfare minister Dipu Moni, former prime minister's adviser Salman F Rahman, former law minister Anisul Haque, former jute minister Golam Dastgir Gazi, former deputy speaker Shamsul Haque Tuku and former state minister Zunaid Ahmed Palak, and former deputy minister Arif Khan.
