Yunus pays tribute to armed forces martyrs at Shikha Anirban

Chief Adviser Prof Muhammad Yunus on Thursday paid tribute to the martyred members of the armed forces who sacrificed their lives in the great War of Independence by placing a wreath at the Shikha Anirban inside the Army Headquarters.

Chief of Army Staff General Waker-Uz-Zaman, Chief of Naval Staff Admiral M Nazmul Hassan, Air Chief Marshal Hasan Mahmood Khan and Armed Forces Division Principal Staff Officer Lt General S M Kamrul Hassan welcomed Chief Adviser Prof Yunus when he arrived at Shikha Anirban.

After laying the wreath, the chief adviser signed the visitor’s book kept at Shikha Anirban with his comments, according to an ISPR media release, reports UNB.

After laying a wreath at Shikha Anirban, the chief adviser spent his first working day at his own office in the Armed Forces Division.

On his arrival at the Armed Forces Division, the chief adviser was received by the principal staff officer and director general of the Armed Forces Division.

After that, the army, navy and air force chiefs paid a courtesy call to the chief adviser at his office.

The chief adviser's Special Assistant (Defence Affairs) Lt General (retd) Abdul Hafiz was present.
