Theatre troupe Open Space Theatre will stage two shows of its first production ‘12 Angry Men’ on September 13 at the Natmandal of Dhaka University. The 58th show will be staged at 5pm while the 59th show will start at 7:30 pm.

On the other hand, 60th and 61st show will be staged on September 14 at the same time and venue.

’12 Angry Men’ is a cult classic courtroom drama and M Arifur Rahman has directed the play for the evening.

’12 Angry Men’ is an adaptation of the 1957 American courtroom drama film 12 Angry Men directed by Sidney Lumet, which was adapted from a 1954 teleplay of the same name by Reginald Rose.

A 12-member jury is sent to begin deliberations in the first-degree murder trial of an 18-year-old man accused of the stabbing death of his father, where a guilty verdict means an automatic death sentence. The play explores many techniques of consensus-building and the difficulties encountered in the process, among a group of men whose range of personalities adds intensity and conflict.
