Biman Bangladesh Airlines, commonly known as Biman, is increasing the number of flights on the Dhaka-Toronto-Dhaka route due to an increase in demand.

This national flag carrier used to operate two flights in a week on this route, which now has been increased to three.

Biman Bangladesh Airlines General Manager (Public Relations) Boshra Islam confirmed the matter in a press statement on Wednesday.

She said an additional flight has been added to the Toronto route every Thursday from October 31. As a result, there will be three weekly flights on Saturday, Tuesday and Thursday on the Dhaka-Toronto-Dhaka route following the date.

Currently the flights are being operated on this route on only Tuesday and Saturday. Toronto flights are operated by state-of-the-art Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner aircraft, she added.

The Biman said in the meantime, the tickets for that flight have been opened for sale in all distribution channels of Biman Bangladesh Airlines. A special discount is being offered for passengers on Thursday flights.

The passengers can purchase tickets from Biman's commercial website www.biman-airlines.com, Biman’s mobile apps, call center 13636, Biman’s own sales centers, and Biman authorised travel agencies.

On March 26, 2022, Biman operated its first test commercial flight on the Dhaka-Toronto route.

The flight took about 19 hours to reach Toronto. The flight returned to Dhaka after flying for 16 hours from Toronto on March 30 at noon, named “Proven Flight.” Later, commercial flights were launched on this route on July 27 of the same year.
