2 hacked to death in Pabna, Khulna

A local leader of the outlawed Sarbahara party in Faridpur upazila, Pabna and a youth in Rupsha, Khulna were hacked to death on Saturday.

Police recovered the body of Almas Hossain, 45, who was known to be involved with the militant Maoist Sarbahara party, near Mongolgram Beel Bridge of Faridpur upazila. Faridpur police station’s officer-in-charge Masud Rana said they found the body after being informed by the locals.

Locals said Almas’s body had many stabbing injuries.

Meanwhile in Khulna, Rupsha police station officer-in-charge Molla Zakir Hossain said while cleaning a disputed land on Saturday, a youth, Mohidul, aged 35, got into a fight with the opponent group and at one point someone struck his head with a hatchet. Mohidul died on the way to hospital. Police retrieved the blood stained hatchet from the spot.
