World coronavirus death toll crosses 2 million

Global deaths from the novel coronavirus infection reached 2,020,103 as of Sunday morning, according to the Centre for System Science and Engineering of Johns Hopkins University.

Moreover, 94,417,649 Covid-19 cases have been confirmed around the world.

Although cases of new infection keep growing among the infected world population currently, most of them are in mild condition.

Among the currently 25,145,991 infected patients 25,034,377 are in mild condition, which is 99.6 per cent, Worldometer records in its daily updates.

On the other hand, 111,614 of the currently infected patients are in serious condition, and their percentage is only 0.4.

So far, 51,971,697 people have recovered.

In Bangladesh, 21 more Covid-19 patients died in the last 24 hours as of Saturday, increasing the death toll from the pandemic to 7,883.

Besides, the tally of infections has surged to 5,27,063 as 578 new cases were confirmed in the last 24 hours.
