In celebration of the International Day of Peace on September 21, a one-day solo photography exhibition — titled "Peaceful Bangladesh" — was hosted at the Jamaica Queens Center in New York, United States.

The event on Saturday was jointly organised by the United Nations Association of the USA (UNA-USA), Elham Academy, New York, and Save the People, with support from the Peace Center of USA.

The exhibition was officially inaugurated by Republican congressional leader Paul King at the premises of Elham Academy within the Jamaica Queens Center on Saturday afternoon.

In attendance at the opening ceremony were key figures such as Dr Muhammad Shahidullah, Outreach Coordinator of the UNA-USA Queen’s Chapter; freedom fighter Dr Masudul Hasan; and Sohrab Sarkar. International award-winning Bangladeshi photographer Tanveer Hasan Rohan was also present to support the event.

The exhibit showcased 20 striking photographs captured by renowned Bangladeshi photographer and travel writer Muhammad Mostafigur Rahman, whose works have received international acclaim.

These powerful images highlighted the beauty of Bangladesh, from its awe-inspiring landscapes to the peaceful lives of its people.

During the ceremony, Muhammad Shahidullah praised Mostafigur for his incredible talent and for portraying Bangladesh’s natural beauty and culture to an international audience.

Paul King shared his admiration for the photos, expressing his surprise at the breath-taking views of Bangladesh’s scenery and the vibrant, peaceful lives depicted in the images.

Mostafigur, in his closing remarks, extended his gratitude to the organisers for making the exhibition possible. He emphasised the importance of such events in promoting a positive image of Bangladesh internationally and inspiring a deeper understanding of the country’s rich cultural and natural heritage.
