A Dhaka court today put former IGP Abdullah-Al-Mamun on a four-day remand in a case filed over the killing of Mohammad Ismamul Haque in the city's Chankharpul area on August 5.

Metropolitan Magistrate of Dhaka Saifuzzaman passed the order as the investigation officer prayed for a 10-day remand for proper investigation.

Ismamul was killed while he was taking part in a protest on August 5 during the anti-discrimination movement, reports BSS.

On August 25, his brother Mohammad Mohibul Haque filed a case with Shahbagh Police Station against several people, including ousted prime minister Sheikh Hasina.

Detectives of Dhaka Metropolitan Police arrested Mamun from Uttara in the city on September 3.

He was put on remand multiple times in connection with several cases since his arrest.
