Global Covid-19 death toll reaches 2,586,872

The global death count from the novel coronavirus infection reached 2,586,872 as of Sunday morning, according to the Centre for System Science and Engineering of Johns Hopkins University.

Moreover, 116,468,157 Covid-19 cases have been confirmed around the world.

Although cases of new infection keep growing among the infected world population currently, most of them are in mild condition.

Among the currently 21,823,794 infected patients 21,734,485 are in mild condition, which is 99.6 per cent, Worldometer records in its daily updates.

On the other hand, 89,309 of the currently infected patients are in serious condition, and their percentage is only 0.4.

So far, 65,808,081 people have recovered.

In Bangladesh, ten more Covid-19 patients died in the last 24 hours as of Friday, increasing the death toll from the pandemic to 8,451.

Besides, the tally of infections has surged to 549,184 as 540 new cases were confirmed in the last 24 hours.
