Transparency International Bangladesh (TIB) has demanded a fair investigation into the brutal murder of Gazipur City Corporation anti-corruption executive engineer Delwar Hossain.
The organization made the demand in a press release sent out to media on Tuesday. In addition to a proper investigation by law enforcement agencies into the murder, TIB also demanded the Anti-Corruption Commission to unmask the corrupt ring involved in the killing.
Executive director of TIB, Dr. Iftekharuzzamansaid in a statement said that “Failure to ensure justice in this case will call into question the Prime Minister's zero tolerance pledge against corruption."
TIB said, Gazipur City Corporation cannot avoid responsibility for the incident as they did not take appropriate action in time.
