A heavily crowded ferry at Mawa river crossing, popularly known as Mawa Ferry Ghat, drifts in the Padma River.
After the Eid hangover is over holidaymakers are heading for Dhaka, disregarding not only all the healthcare hacks during coronavirus pandemic, but also risking their lives while disembarking from ferries or huddling in private vehicles.
The lockdown is yet to lax fully and public transports still keep off the highways in the country; but people made inbound and outbound journeys before and after Eid-ul-Fitr.
Loaded with vehicles and holidaymakers, the ferry comes closer to a jetty to anchor so that vehicles can roll off and people can disembark.
Ferry is lashed with the jetty.
People, careless about contracting coronavirus, stream out of the ferry as they are desperate to come to Dhaka after enjoying Eid festival back at their village homes.
Some make strides to reach pontoon to get off the ferry quickly, risking their lives.
Passengers in droves leave the vessel to catch a vehicle as public transports are still banned on highways and byways.
Revelers hurry back now as they hurried into the RORO ferry on the other point of the river crossing.
People, with their bags and sacks, get off while private vehicles roll off the ferry.
Without keeping social distance, holidaymakers cram into a pickup van which is meant for carrying loads.
