Sports minister congratulates women cricketers

State minister for youth and sports Md Zahid Ahsan Russel congratulated Bangladesh women’s cricket team upon getting Test status.

The minister in a message said that it was a matter of pride and prestige for the nation to get Test status in such an auspicious moment of the celebration of Mujib Year and the golden jubilee of the country’s independence.

‘It is undoubtedly an extra-ordinary achievement for us. Such success of women cricketers in the Mujib Year has set up an example of empowerment of Bengali women all over the world, said the minister.

He also thanked Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina for her sports-friendly gesture and encouraging and patronising sports women.
