COVID-19: Global death count reaches 2,886,103

The global death toll from the novel coronavirus infection reached 2,886,103 as of Thursday morning, according to the Centre for System Science and Engineering of Johns Hopkins University.

Moreover, 132,944,526 COVID-19 cases have been confirmed around the world.

Although cases of new infection keep growing among the infected world population currently, most of them are in mild condition.

Among the currently 22,978,574 infected patients 22,877,842 are in mild condition, which is 99.6 per cent, Worldometer records in its daily updates.

On the other hand, 100,732 of the currently infected patients are in serious condition, and their percentage is only 0.4.

So far, 75,582,826 people have recovered.

In Bangladesh, 63 more COVID-19 patients died in the last 24 hours as of Wednesday, increasing the death toll from the pandemic to 9,447.

Besides, the tally of infections has surged to 659,278 as 7,626 new cases were confirmed in the last 24 hours.
