COVID-19 infected actress Kabori in ICU

Legendary actress and former lawmaker for Narayanganj-4 Sarah Begum Kabori has been shifted to Sheikh Russel National Gastroliver Institute & Hospital in the capital’s Mohakhali from Kurmitola General Hospital Thursday.

Kabori, who is infected with COVID-19, has been placed at the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of the hospital in a deteriorating condition, said Nur Uddin, a personal assistant of the actress.

Kabori’s test report for the novel coronavirus came out positive on April 5. She was admitted to the Kurmitola General Hospital on the same day.

Kabori started her acting career by appearing in Subhash Dutta directed film Sutorang in 1964.

She took home the Bangladesh National Film Award for Best Actress for her role in Sareng Bou (1978).

In 2006, she made her debut as a filmmaker by directing the film Ayna. Her latest project titled Ei Tumi Shei Tumi is currently in the making.
