Morin Talukder is one of the nine Bangladeshi youths who made it to the Forbes 30 Under 30 Asia list 2021. The 27-year-old entrepreneur endured many challenges and hard work to finally become an established businessman at a young age.

Hailing from Tangail, Morin always wanted to excel in business. His parents, Alamgir Hossain Talukder and Maksuda Talukder wanted him to be an engineer and Morin was studying engineering to make his parents’ dream come true. But he could not finish becoming an engineer as entrepreneurship was what Morin wanted to pursue.

After completing his schooling at Sylhet Cadet College, Morin went to the United Kingdom for his graduation in Computer Science and Engineering. He then pursued post-graduation in marketing in order to learn the tricks of business.

In 2015, while he was still studying in the UK, Morin and his friends launched an online shop named e-hatbazar, where they used to sell electronic gazettes.

His parents, however, could not digest the idea of their son abandoning engineering and embracing a marketing career.

But things were about to change for Morin.

He co-founded online marketing platform Pickaboo in 2019 which quickly gained fame in the market for its swift delivery.

Riding on instalment facility and quick delivery services, Pickaboo soon became one of the top local start-ups.

Pickaboo currently has 11 retail shops and Morin wants to build a gazette hub with offline and online retail chains.

According to Morin, his biggest challenge was finding a delivery chain.

“Because in the year of 2016-17 our delivery system was not up to the mark and we had to face difficulties in reaching our customers with the precise product,” Morin told The Business Post.

“The delivery chain is still not up to our expectation even today”, Morin adds.

According to Morin, Bangladesh hosts lots of opportunities for an entrepreneur but the business idea must be unique.

“One must be ready to work hard in order to attain his dream,” Morin said.

‘’Bangladesh is a promising market for the new entrepreneurs and I cordially welcome those who want to pursue entrepreneurship. Because the greater the number of entrepreneurs the better it is for the country’s development. This will boost the country’s economy,’’ Morin said.
