Huawei Carrier Congress 2021 kicks off to increase digital extension

Huawei has started a special event titled "Huawei Carrier Congress 2021" with industry stakeholders from home and abroad to exchange views on technology trends and other aspects that may influence the tech world in the coming days.

Posts and Telecommunications Minister Mustafa Jabbar inaugurated the event virtually on Thursday.

Huawei Technologies (Bangladesh) Limited issued a press release on Friday in this regard.

“The government, under the leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and the guidance of her ICT Affairs Adviser Sajeeb Wazed Joy, is very sincere in making the dream of Digital Bangladesh a reality,” said Mustafa Jabbar.

“We have established the telecom industry as a significant sector of the country. And now we are relishing the outcomes of the decisions we took,” he added.

The minister also said that the rapid march of Bangladesh towards a comprehensive digital transformation is greatly encouraging and satisfying.

“…and I’d like to thank Huawei for being one of the enabling forces behind our digital transformation,” he said.

He further said that an event like this would also contribute a lot to the digitalisation of the country, as it will inspire people to think out of the box and explore ideas necessary to cope with an intelligent world awaiting them in the near future.

In his welcome speech, vice president of Huawei’s Global Public Affairs department Edward Zhou said, “Bangladesh has our sincere commitment with our utmost capabilities and dedication to the digital journey of this country.”

“As a localised global provider of ICT infrastructure, we will be helping industries here expand by transcending the boundaries of their businesses and exploring new horizons,” he added.
