The Bangladesh Securities and Exchange Commission (BSEC) on Wednesday decided to extend share trading at the Dhaka and Chittagong stock exchanges by one hour.

Usually, the share market sees trading from 10:00 am to 2:30 pm. But in the face of a sudden surge of Covid-19 infection, the regulator reduced the timing to 10:00 am to12:30pm.

The BSEC on Wednesday decided to extend the trading hour by one hour, effective from Thursday.

As per the decision, share trading at the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) and Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) will remain open till 1:30 pm starting from 10:00 am.

“As the banking hour has been extended to 2:00 pm, share trading at the stock exchanges will remain open till 1:30 pm starting from 10:00 am,” Mohammad Rezaul Karim, BSEC executive director and spokesperson said in a statement.

Bangladesh Bank in a circular issued on Wednesday said banking transaction will remain open from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm.
