Aarong fined Tk 1,00,000 for flouting health guidelines

A mobile court of the Dhaka North City Corporation has fined Aarong’s Asadgate outlet Tk 1,00,000 for not complying with hygiene rules regarding covid-19 pandemic.

DNCC’s executive magistrate Tajwar Akram Sakapi Ibn Sajjad fined Arang Tk 1,00,00 for having more customers than approved capacity.

DNCC mayor Atiqul Islam was present during the raid on Thursday.

The mayor also went inside the outlet and went on an awareness campaign among the customers present there on Covid-19.

He requested the customers to stand in queue on the marked places maintaining physical distance.

“Don't forget that we all have families. As mayor I come here to tell that you have to be careful. If you take care of yourselves, your families as well as city dwellers and the country people will survive,” said the mayor.

“Wear the mask and follow the social distance,” he added.

Those who are at the counter should make sure that the buyers stand on the market place allow none to crowd at the counter, he said.
