Ferry services suspended again on Paturia-Daulatdia route

Ferry services on Paturia-Daulatdia route was suspended again this morning after operation of 12 hours since 6pm last everning. 

Hundreds of passengers were seen gathering at Paturia jetty area hoping to cross the river this morning. But their hopes were dashed as there was no ferry to take them on the other side of the river. 

Earlier, ferry services on Paturia-Daulatdia route was suspended to curb the spread of Covid-19.

Bangladesh Inland Water Transport Corporation (BIWTC) said the decision to suspend ferry services on the two busy water routes, with effect from Saturday morning, was taken in the wake of the ongoing second wave of coronavirus.
