Fatalities from Covid-19 near 13,000 in Bangladesh as 40 more died in the 24 hours till 8:00am on Thursday pushing the total fatalities to 12,989.
At the same time 2,576 fresh cases were recorded raising the caseloads rose to 8,20,395.
The rate of positivity now stands at 13.25 for the last 24 hours, according to the routine press release by the Directorate General of Health Services.
The mortality rate is 1.58 per cent.
In the meantime, the toll of recoveries rose to 7,59,630 with 2,061 patients got cured of the disease in the 24 hours taking the rate of recoveries at 92.59 per cent, said the directorate.
The ongoing lockdown till June 6 has been extended to 16 June to tackle the second wave of Covid-19 situation in Bangladesh.
