Quader Mirza files GD against 96 people including MP Ekram

Abdul Quader Mirza, Basurhat municipality mayor, has filed a general diary (GD) against 96 people, including Noakhali-4 MP and district Awami League general secretary Ekramul Karim Chowdhury, seeking security for himself.

Quader Mirza alleged that Ekram Chowdhury, former upazila chairman Mizanur Rahman Badal, upazila Awami League President Khizir Hayat Khan, upazila Vice-Chairman Azam Pasha Chowdhury and three of his nephews were planning to assassinate him.

He also made 20-25 people as unknown accused.

Abul Kalam Azad, officer-in-charge (OC) and inspector (investigation) of Basurhat police station, confirmed the matter on Friday.

He said Quader Mirza filed the GD with the police station over fear of attack, disappearance and murder, adding that he (OC) himself was investigating the allegations.

Ekramul Karim Chowdhury could not be reached for comment regarding the allegations.
