13 more Covid patients die in RMCH

Thirteen more Covid patients died in the past 24 hours at Rajshahi Medical College and Hospital on Wednesday, according to the district's health officials.

"Of the deceased, five were Covid-19 positive while the others died with Covid-like-symptoms," said Saiful Ferdous, deputy director of Rajshahi Medical College and Hospital (RMCH).

With 48 new cases, a total of 344 people are currently undergoing Covid treatment at the hospital while 20 are in the ICU unit.

On Tuesday, 187 samples were tested in the hospital's lab and 458 in the PCR lab. Of these, 77 people were identified as Covid positive in the RMCH Lab and 152 in the PCR Lab.

As per the test ratio of the samples, the infection rate in Rajshahi district is 43.43 per cent which is the highest in the division.

Apart from this, the infection rate in Natore is 25.18 per cent, 24.06 per cent in Chapainawabganj.

So far, 204 people died at RMCH until Wednesday.
