Omie, two others sued under Passport Act

Police have filed a case against Tuhin Siddiqui Omie, one of the accused in the Dhallywood actress Pori Moni rape and murder attempts case, and two others under the Bangladesh Passport Act 1920.

Dhamrai police station Inspector (Investigation) Kamal Hossain filed the case with the Dakshinkhan police station on Tuesday night.

Confirming the matter, Dakshinkhan police station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Shamim Hossain confirmed the matter On Wednesday.

He said the case was filed over the confiscation of 102 passports from Omie's office.

The Detective Branch of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) seized the passports from Omie's office named 'Singapore Training Centre' during a raid in the Dakkhinkhan area of the capital, he said.

The other two accused in the case are Basir and Mashiur, OC Shamim added.

A Dhaka court on Tuesday placed Nasir Uddin Mahmud and Pori Moni's assistant Tuhin Siddiqui Omie on a seven-day remand each in a case filed under the Narcotics Control Act.

Three women, also accused in the case, were remanded for three days.
