Allegations were raised against actress Pori Moni that she broke glasses at a club in the capital’s Gulshan and engaged in a scuffle with its employees at the early hours of June 8.

KM Alamgir, president of All Community Club in Gulshan-2, said that Pori Moni went to the club accompanied by a youth who was wearing shorts which was against the club’s dress code.

They became furious when they were told about violating the dress-code and afterwards were asked to leave the club premises as it became very late at the night, added Alamgir.

At one stage, they started shouting and started throwing glasses and ashtrays.

A police team went to All Community Club following a 999 call around 1:55am and found some broken pieces of glass there.

Later, Pori left the club around 2:40am after the situation was calmed by the police, Rafiqul Islam, assistant commissioner at Dhaka Metropolitan Police, Gulshan zone, told The Business Post Wednesday.

Pori Moni denied to make any comment over the incident as reporters contacted her.

Police on Monday arrested Dhaka Boat Club executive committee member and realtor Nasir Uddin Mahmood, his friend Omie and three women in a drive in the capital’s Uttara after Pori Moni filed a case with Savar police station accusing six people including Nasir Uddin Mahmood and Omie of attempting to rape and kill her.
