BSEC lifts floor prices of all listed companies

The Bangladesh Securities and Exchange Commission has lifted floor prices of all listed companies on the country’s stock exchanges.

The stock market regulator issued an order regarding the matter on Thursday and asked the Dhaka and Chattogram stock authorities to execute the order from Sunday.

Top officials of the BSEC said that the decision was taken in the interest of thousands of investors and for the development of the country's bourses.

Earlier, on April 7, the commission withdrew floor prices of shares of the 66 companies setting their downward price change circuit breaker at 2 per cent.

On March 19 last year, the BSEC launched a new circuit breaker to halt free fall of prices that yielded positive outcomes in the indices.
