Tk 3.77 crore disappears from vault of Dhaka Bank's Bangshal branch

Tk 3.77 crore has reportedly disappeared from the vault of Bangshal branch of Dhaka Bank on Thursday night, according to Bangshal police station.

Two bank officials of that branch have been taken into police custody in connection with the incident.

Masum Billah, sub-inspector (SI) of Bangshal police station, confirmed the matter on Friday to The Business Post.

The disappearance of the money was first noticed in an internal audit of the bank branch.

"The manager of the bank filed a complaint with us last night that their cash in-charge had diverged Tk 3,77,66,000 from the branch office," he said.

Imran Ahmed, manager (operations), and Rifajul Haque, cash in-charge of the Bangshal branch, were arrested based on the allegation, said SI Masum Billah.

No case has been filed in this regard yet, he added.
