Habib Shakil’s narcotics thriller streaming now on Binge

Streaming platform Binge started streaming from Thursday the web series ‘Kiss of Judas’, a hardcore thriller by director Habib Shakil that deals with drug trafficking in never-seen-before tactics and paced up by technological advancements.

Written by Shahjahan Sourav and produced under the banner of Chonnochara Production, the web series is now available to viewers free of cost on the streamer.

‘Kiss of Judas’ marks Habib Shakil’s debut as a director on over-the-top platform. “I am a bit excited. The rest will depend on the viewers as to how much they like it,” he told The Business Post prior to premiere of the title Thursday.

The eight-episode web series has a large ensemble of cast that includes Abu Hurayra Tanveer, Jannatun Nur Moon, Doyel Mesh, Wahid Tarek, Nasir Uddin Khan and Tutul Chowdhury.

Habib Shakil teamed up with Tathagata Maiti and producer Torun Majumder for doctoring the script that took long four months to get it into shape, they said.

‘Kiss of Judas’ is about the changing nature and application of narcotics bolstered with the progression in technology where mostly the youths fall into the trap of addiction.

“Everyone should come forward to save the young generation from the threats of drug addiction which is rising alarmingly with the tech advancements. They should not resort to narcotics no matter what extent of depression they face,” Shakil told The Business Post.

Habib Shakil, who earlier directed television dramas like ‘Cinema Jibon’, ‘Rupar Nupur’, ‘Science Er Meye Arts Er Chele’, experienced a lot of response from viewers for his drama serial ‘Porer Meye’ which was aired on NTV.
