Channel 24 to air documentary on Sufi Mizan

Private television channel Channel 24 has produced a special documentary on Sufi Mohammad Mizanur Rahman, the founder chairman of PHP Family.

He was awarded Ekushey Padak, the second-highest civilian award, in 2020.

The documentary programme titled 'Panchasher Prakritajan' will be aired on Channel 24 at 10:30am, 3:30pm and 9:30pm on July 23, the third day of Eid-ul-Azha. The life and work of Sufi Mohammad Mizanur Rahman will be featured in the programme.

Mizanur Rahman was a bank official when he left his job and went ahead with the initiative of launching his own business after the independence of Bangladesh. He has so far founded 33 companies in the last five decades, where around 10,000 people are currently employed.

The average annual turnover of these companies is Tk 5,000 crore and they pay about Tk 800 crore to the government as VAT, duties and income tax.
