Digitalhaat, an online marketplace to sell sacrificial animals, sold 387,579 animals worth Tk 2,735 crore as of Tuesday.
The government launched the digital platform to help the buyers and cattle traders avoid mass gatherings amid the ongoing Covid-1 9 pandemic,
On Tuesday, the last day before the Eid-ul-Azha, a total of 26,681 sacrificial animals were uploaded on the platform, as per the data of the department of livestock.
On the day, 38,151 sacrificial animals were sold at over Tk 311 crore through the online marketplace
The online digital cattle haat has been launched in association with the ICT division, Access to Information Programme (ai2), Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) and e-Commerce Association Bangladesh (e-CAB).
