Bangladesh need 167 runs in their second twenty20 international to beat Zimbabwe and seal the series with an unassailable 2-0 lead.

Youngster Shoriful Islam was the pick of Bangladesh’s bowlers as he picked up three wickets. Wesley Madhevere’s knock of 73 runs off 57 deliveries was the powerhouse of the Zimbabwean innings with Ryan Burl’s cameo of 34 from 19 deliveries took them to 166 for six.

Winning the toss, Zimbabwe skipper Sikandar Raza decided to bat first but they were hit early as Mahedi Hasan rattled Tadiwanashe Marumani’s stumps in the second over.

Regis Chakabva was the next to go as Shakib Al Hasan removed him before Madhevere put up a 57-run stand with Dion Myers, who was removed by Shoriful.

Madhevere picked up his fifty off 45 deliveries, hitting five boundaries and a six but saw his skipper run out when Soumya Sarkar hit the stumps directly.

Madhevere was finally gone for 73 when Afif Hossain took a good catch off Shoriful’s bowling but Burl’s cameo meant that Zimbabwe notched up 54 runs from the last five overs.

Brief Score: Zimbabwe 166-6, 20 Overs (Madhevere 73, Burl 34*, Shoriful 3-33, Mahedi 1-11)
