Federation of Television Professionals Organisation (FTPO) announced that shooting of small screen dramas will remain suspended during the 14-day strict lockdown enforced from yesterday to contain the spread of coronavirus in the country.

“This is to notify all affiliate organisations of FTPO that all types of shooting activities will remain suspended during the nationwide strict lockdown from July 23 to August 5 imposed by the government due to a surge in Covid-19 infections,” FTPO said in an urgent notice issued on Thursday.

The notice signed by FTPO Chairman Mamunur Rashid and Secretary General Salauddin Lavlu read that they were earlier allowed by the government, under special consideration, to continue shooting for Eid special programmes during the last phase of lockdown from July 1 to July 14.

Now permission for any shooting activity will not be available as shoots for the Eid projects are already wrapped up, read the notice.

However, FTPO urged everyone to abide by the health rules and stay at home during the virus lockdown.

The death toll from Covid-19 rose to 18,851 in the country with yesterday’s 166 deaths while the total infections soared to 11,46,564.
