Educational institutions to remain closed till Aug 6

All the educational institutions will remain shut until August 6 amid the surge in Covid-19 cases and fatalities.

Public relations officer of the Ministry of Education Mohammad Abul Khayer confirmed the matter on Monday.

On March 16, the government closed all educational institutes to prevent the spread of coronavirus. No classes have been held since that day.

The general holidays were announced in March to contain the transmission of coronavirus and were extended to May 30 in phases as the number of confirmed coronavirus cases and deaths rose.

38 patients died from Covid-19 in the country over the last 24 hours as of Monday, taking the death toll to 1,209.

Besides, 3,099 more people tested positive for the virus, which makes 90,619 confirmed cases in total.
