City Bank organizes memorial event for late Anwar Hossain

A mourning and remembrance ceremony was held at City Bank recently in memory of former chairman of the bank and founder and Chairman of Anwar Group of Industries, former lawmaker Alhaj Anwar Hossain.

Managing Director and CEO of City Bank Mashrur Arefin presided over the memorial event, while Chairman of City Bank Aziz Al Kaiser, Director Rajibul Huq Chowdhury, eldest son of late Anwar Hossain and Chairman of Anwar Group of Industries Manwar Hossain, younger son and Vice Chairman of City Bank Hossain Khaled, second son and Director of the bank, Hossain Mehmood, former MD & CEO of the bank Abbas Uddin Ahmed and others attended the session.

Family members of the late Alhaj Anwar Hossain and executives of the bank were also present, said a media release on Tuesday.

In the meeting, the speakers also reminisced about the career of Alhaj Anwar Hossain and remarked on his contribution to private sector banking in Bangladesh. Besides, a video
on the life of Alhaj Anwar Hossain was exhibited.
