Bangladesh women’s national football conceded five goals in consecutive matches as Iran thrashed them 5-0 at the Bunyodkor Stadium in Uzbekistan in a qualifying match for the 2022 AFC Women’s Asian Cup on Wednesday.
Bangladesh had also lost 5-0 in their first match against Jordan.
Iranian defender Melika Motevalli kicked off the goal fest in the fourth minute before Golnoosh Khosrabi made it 2-0 in the 14th minute. Iran skipper Behnaz Taherkhani made it 3-0 from the spot in the 31st minute and the first half ended 3-0.
The Iranians scored a couple of more goals in the second half as Hajar Dabbaghi scored in the 55th minute to make it 4-0.
Taherkhani once again scored from the spot in the 61st minute to make it 5-0. Bangladesh managed to spend the rest of the match without conceding another as the match ended with a 5-0 thrashing for them.
