Habib introduces Zarin in playback with Olike’s ‘Galui’

Popular singer-composer Habib Wahid is teaming up again with filmmaker SA Haque Olike for his upcoming film, titled ‘Galui’, a recipient of government grants for the fiscal year 2020-21.

Two of the film’s songs, including the title track, will be in the voice of Habib and newcomer Zarin who was introduced by Habib with a duet song titled ‘Tumihina Mon’ last month.

Both the songs are tuned and music composed by Habib Wahid as well. Meanwhile, the title song of ‘Galui’ was recorded at Habib’s studio in the capital’s Green Road, director Olike confirmed The Business Post on Wednesday. The song is penned by Sohel Arman.

The song marks Zarin’s debut in playback singing and Habib’s return to playback after nearly five years.

Regarding introducing Zarin in film songs, Habib told The Business Post, “Time to time, I like to introduce new singers to my audience and Zarin was one such singer who was recently introduced with ‘Tumihina Mon’ on my YouTube channel. I always felt that her voice was made for playback singing. I am very glad that I am being able to introduce her to the audience as a playback artist soon after I discovered her”.

“It’s good to be back doing songs for a movie after ages especially as it’s been a huge demand from fans since last few years,” said Habib recalling that his first movie song was for Olike’s movie ‘Hridoyer Kotha’ which always creates a good vibe to the fans.

Regarding his return to playback after a long period, Habib said that he isn’t sure whether he can continue doing playback since he hasn’t been able to reach an understanding with producers and directors regarding certain issues like song rights management and some other issues.

Marking the reunion with Habib Wahid with the film ‘Galui’, Olike told The Business Post, “It’s the matter of understanding. When we come together each time, something very amazing happens, for sure. All the songs he did in my films came out to be very wonderful”.

“The audience loves it when we work together. And the magic started with the film ‘Hridoyer Kotha’. This time, Sohel Arman has joined us,” added Olike.

Talking about the title track of the new film, Olike said, “Sohel Arman has written the song very well and Habib’s tune has been extraordinary. The other artist named Zarin, who collaborated with Habib in the song, got a very amazing vocal.”

The director further informed that they will start filming ‘Galui’ in Mohera Zamindar Bari in Tangail Thursday (today) and the next schedule will be in Jamalpur.

‘Galui’ stars Shakib Khan and Puja Cherry in the lead roles, the director informed.

Habib Wahid earlier did playback in director Olike’s films ‘Hridoyer Kotha’, ‘Akash Chhoa Bhalobasa’, ‘Aro Bhalobashbo Tomay’ and ‘Ek Prithibi Prem’ which are still loved by fans.
