Shohag Parvez’s exhibition underway at Galleri Kaya

‘My Country’, the eighth solo exhibition of eminent Bangladeshi artist Shohag Parvez, is currently underway at Galleri Kaya in the capital’s Uttara area.

Organised by Galleri Kaya, the exhibition was inaugurated by Chief Executive Officer of HSBC Bangladesh, Md Mahbub ur Rahman.

This exhibition showcases a selection of 42 artworks done in watercolour, acrylic, pen and ink, charcoal on paper and canvas.

The exhibition is open to art enthusiasts every day from 11:30am to 7:30pm till tomorrow, and the organisers have requested the visitors to follow Covid-19 safety guidelines.

Born in Kushtia in 1981, Shohag Parvez’s inspiration for his work is the nature of Bangladesh and the hard-working ordinary people. He believes the great achievement for an artist is to present his country on canvas.

Completed his Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees from the Faculty of Fine Art, University of Dhaka, this promising artist has exhibited his works in India, Pakistan, Nepal, Bhutan, Vietnam, Dubai, Philippines, Australia, America, Poland, and Bangladesh.

He did almost 3000 book covers and illustrations for both grown-ups and children’s books.

He has participated in more than 50 art camps in his own country and abroad.

Moreover, he has been awarded numerous appreciations and received many rewards from Bangladesh as well as other countries so far.
