Web series ‘Match Winner’ set to stream from tomorrow

‘Match Winner’, a new web series based on the story of a young cricketer, is set to stream online from tomorrow.

Abu Hayat Mahmud has directed the web series based on the life of an emerging cricketer and the tremendous change in his life after he established his career in the sport.

Written by Muntaha Britta, the seven-episode series is produced under the banner of Black & White.

‘Match Winner’ has an ensemble cast which includes Yash Rohan, Golam Kibria Tanvir, Nishat Priom, Naziba Basher, Naresh Bhuiyan, Hindol Roy, Mili Basher, Sujat Shimul, Ashraful Alam Rontu, Rigan Ahmed Sohag, Ratno, Mukter Ahmed and Nasir Uddin Khan.

The web series was shot in the capital’s Uttara and Mirpur areas alongside Gazipur’s Pubail and Manikganj.

In the story, a small-town boy named Rakib has a reputation as a good cricketer in his locality. He belongs to a prestigious family, and his grandfather was a freedom fighter. Rakib craves to be a well-established cricketer.

On this journey towards the dream, his girlfriend Selina always encourages her.

At one stage, Rakib secures his position as a well-known cricketer. His stunning performances in back-to-back cricket matches brings him into the limelight.

As Rakib’s reputation grows, he starts to experience a lavish lifestyle and engages himself in party culture, drug addiction and becomes a womaniser as well.

‘Match Winner’ will be aired on NTV and streamed online platforms of the channel from tomorrow.
