Marking the 75th birthday of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, a two-day art camp was held at the National Art Gallery Plaza of Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy (BSA) in the capital’s Segun Bagicha area. Inaugurated on Wednesday, the special cart camp concluded yesterday, said a press release.

Planned by BSA Director General Liaquat Ali Lucky, a total of 75 renowned female painters and artists of the country participated in the art camp titled ‘Sheikh Hasina: Bishwajoyi Nondito Neta.’

Eminent artists and art scholars, including Kanak Chanpa Chakma, Farida Zaman, Rokeya Sultana, Naima Haque, Ivy Zaman, Farzana Ahmed Shanta, and Syed Mahbuba Karim Mini, participated in the camp to portray the eventful and historic life of Sheikh Hasina on their canvases.

“All the artworks will be showcased at an upcoming exhibition at the Gallery 1 of BSA’s National Art Gallery, which will be inaugurated on the prime minister’s 75th birthday on September 28,” Liaquat Ali Lucky said, addressing the initiative of organising the art camp.

BSA arranged a similar type of exhibition last year titled ‘Unnoyoner Kobi, Manobotar Maa’, in association with the Ministry of Cultural Affairs.
