BSCIC, Oikko Foundation sign MoU to launch digital display, sales centres

BSCIC, Oikko Foundation sign MoU to launch digital display, sales centres

Bangladesh Small and Cottage Industries Corporation and Oikko Foundation have signed a memorandum of understanding recently in the capital, aiming to set up “BSCIC-OIKKO Digital Display and Sales Centres” in 493 upazilas of Bangladesh.

BSCIC Secretary Md Mofidul Islam and Oikko Foundation Chief Executive Apu Mahfuz signed the agreement on behalf of the organisations, according to a press release.

Industries Minister Nurul Majid Mahmud Humayun was present virtually as the chief guest on the occasion. President of Oikko Foundation (CMSME Entrepreneur Development Wing) Shahin Akhtar Rainy was also present at the event digitally.

In his speech, the minister said the initiative will be immensely beneficial for both the economy and the entrepreneurs themselves.

“Besides, I am hopeful that seeing these budding entrepreneurs prosper will inspire others to begin their own ventures. So I thank both the organisations and all concerned for taking up such a wonderful initiative,” he added.

Shahin Akhtar said, “I am hopeful that we will be able to contribute to the implementation of the Prime Minister's 'Vision 2041' through the smooth operation of all our plans and activities. I sincerely thank BSCIC for being a partner in our journey.”

The event was presided over by BSCIC Chairman Md Mostaque Hasan.

Dhaka North City Corporation Mayor and President of Oikko Foundation (CMSME Enterprise Extension Wing) Md Atiqul Islam and Shykh Seraj, Director and Head of News, Impress Telefilm Ltd, Channel i, sent their warm regards to BSCIC and Oikko Foundation on the joint initiative.
