BNP chief's advisor M A Haque dies with cold-related problems

Muhammad Abdul Haque, advisor to the BNP Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia and former president of Sylhet district unit of the party, died with pneumonia and other cold-related problems at a hospital in Sylhet on Friday.

BNP chairperson's media wing member Sayrul Kabir Khan confirmed the matter to the Business Post.

The BNP leader breathed his last at North East Medical College and Hospital in Dakkhin Surma around 10:30 am, said managing director of the hospital Dr Shahrier Hossain Chowdhury.

The BNP leader had been suffering from pneumonia for the last several days and he was taken to the hospital a few days ago.

Later, he was shifted to the ICU of the hospital on Wednesday where he died on Friday.
 
A medical team took his samples on Thursday for Covid-19 test.

"On suspicion of Covid-19, his swab samples were collected and sent to the laboratory on Thursday (2 July)," said Sayrul Kabir Khan.
