DSE market PE ratio falls 12.59% in a week

The overall Price-to-Earnings (PE) ratio of the country's main stock exchange Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) declined by 12.59 percent in the outgoing week.

At the beginning of the week, the PE of DSE was at 10.64 points, which now stands at 9.30 points at the closure of the week. In other words, the PE ratio has decreased by 1.34 points or 12.59 percent during the week, according to information from DSE sources.

At the end of the week, the PE ratio of banking sector stands at 6.53 points, IT at 13.86 points, textile at 13.28 points, pharmaceuticals and chemicals at 16.51 points, engineering at 13.35 points, insurance at 10.54 points, food at 7.51 points, leather at 18.13 points, cement at 26.01 points, power and energy sector at 10.19 points, financial sector at 20.91 points, travel and leisure sector at 30.90 points, paper at 43.55 points, telecommunication at 9.24 points, services and housing at 11.13 points, ceramic at 20.31 points, jute at 31.12 points and miscellaneous at 19.74.
