Bangabandhu Innovation Grant 2021 concludes

The Bangabandhu Innovation Grant (BIG) 2021 concluded with a grand finale programme in the capital on Saturday.

The special event was organised by the Innovation Design and Entrepreneurship Academy (iDEA) Project of Bangladesh Computer Council (BCC) under the ICT Division to inspire young entrepreneurs and startups, said a press release.

In the BIG 2021 contest, more than 7,000 startups and inventors from 57 countries, including Bangladesh, applied at the initial stage.

The best of the best winning startup “OpenRefactory” received a grant of $1 lakh with special honors as One Big Winner 2021, which is the biggest reward from the ICT Division for the startups in the Mujib Year, read the release.

Finance Minister AHM Mustafa Kamal, who was the chief guest at the grand finale of BIG 2021, attended the event virtually while State Minister for Information and Communication Technology Zunaid Ahmed Palak presided over the programme.

Senior Secretary to the ICT Division NM Zeaul Alam and Executive Director and Additional Secretary of BCC Md Abdul Mannan were the special guests of the event.

Project Director (Joint Secretary) of the iDEA Project Md Abdur Rakib gave a welcome speech on the occasion.
