Application deadline for school admission extended

The online application deadline for admission in public and private schools in the country has been extended.

Students will be able to file application till December 10 for the government schools and December 16 for private schools, said a notice issued by the Directorate of Secondary and Higher Education (DSHE) on Wednesday.

Earlier, the submission of online applications in schools started on November 25 and was scheduled to conclude on December 8. This year, the admissions to both government and non-government schools will be based on a lottery system, according to DSHE officials. The lottery for state-owned schools will be held on December 15, while the one for private schools will be held on December 19.

Necessary formalities have to be completed using the state-owned phone operator Teletalk.

Students selected in the lottery process of government schools will be admitted from December 18 to December 23 while students of the waiting list will get admission from December 26 to December 30. Besides, students selected in private schools will be admitted from December 21 to December 27 and students from waiting list will get admission from December 28 to December 30.
